How hard is it to change or clean solenoids in a 2001 Nissan Maxima Transmission?

I have got a code on my transmission. How hard is it to change or clean the solenoids in a 2001 Nissan Maxima transmission? how expensive is it?
It is having problems shifting from 2 to 3rd, or 2nd to overdrive. It boggs down like it wants to die.
