Framingham High's Class of 2007 has lost five graduates

Most of the 523 students who graduated from Framingham High School in 2007 are starting to get a taste of the "real world."
The last few years were spent in college, or the military, or working full time. And now, as many of them celebrate their 22nd birthdays, they are making the jump into adulthood.
But for the families of five men from that class, the last four years have been some of the worst they have ever experienced.
Since 2008, five 2007 Framingham High graduates have died.
"I don't think you can label that class by any means," said Jon Kanavich, the Framingham High wrestling coach who knew two of the young men who died. "At first, you go through it and you wonder why. But I don't think there is a reason for it."
The first was Paul Iyawe, who drowned in May 2008 while trying to swim across a lagoon near the Mass. Pike in Framingham. Just 18 years old and a student at Dean College, Iyawe played football at Framingham High and had dreams of playing professionally.
