The pursuit continued through Glenwood Canyon, where the westbound lanes were closed for construction. The Maxima unsafely swerved around other vehicles and kept speeding through a two-lane construction zone, Williams said.
Because of the dangers the driver posed to other motorists, the trooper used a tactical technique to stop the Maxima as the cars slowed down on a highway exit ramp near milepost 123, Williams said.
Williams said he could not gives details of the tactical technique used, but said, "There was definitely impact between the two vehicles."
Both Yoder and the Maxima driver, Igor Skorev, 21, of Henderson, suffered minor injuries. They were treated at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs and released.
Skorev, who was driving with a suspended license, was arrested and held in the Garfield County Jail, Williams said.
Skorev faces several charges, including reckless driving and eluding police, Williams said.
